Casting the Mold: Beetlekill Blues

ArtFOUNDry Casting the Mold 1 Comment

It is not often that mountain pine beetles are a source of new life. But not only is Charise Buckley repairing their destruction, she is creating beauty in its midst. Her entire line of furniture at Beetlekill Blues is sourced from naturally fallen trees, most from recent beetle epidemics.

Everything¬†about the wood is customized. The final design embraces its imperfections, resulting in handcrafted and one of a kind pieces that aim to “bring the forest into your home.” To complete this ultimate testimony to sustainability, Beetlekill Blues partners with local youth organizations and county governments to plant a new tree for each piece of furniture sold.
